Dear friends, dear colleagues
親愛的朋友們 同事們
let me start by saying that I hope you

your friends, your families, your colleagues are all well and safe
及您的朋友、家人和同事都健康安全
These are truly exceptional circumstances
當(dāng)前形勢十分特殊
The world is on lockdown
世界各地都封閉了
and lockdown from Tokyo to Beijing
從東京到北京
and from Sao Paulo
從圣保羅到紐約都處于封閉狀態(tài)
I was very much looking forward to being with you
原本我十分期待出席活動
I very much enjoyed China Brand Day in Shanghai in 2019
2019年在上海舉辦的“中國品牌日”系列活動令人難忘
I thought the quality of the conference was exceptional
會議舉辦得很成功
and I very much enjoyed the conversations around China Brand Day
圍繞“中國品牌日”的對話也十分精彩
I'm joining you today via video,
盡管今天我只能通過視頻參加活動
but still I'm very happy to be part of your event
但能加入你們,我仍倍感高興
Let me start by acknowledging

I'm absolutely convinced that today,
我堅信,在當(dāng)前
more than ever before
比以往任何時刻
we need a close dialogue
我們都更需要加強溝通
between brand marketers and regulators
品牌營銷人員和監(jiān)管機(jī)構(gòu)更需要開展密切對話
Brands have been doing a fabulous job in these exceptional times
品牌在這一特殊時刻發(fā)揮著獨特作用
They've stepped up,
隨著品牌的不斷成長
they've become relevant and truly useful to consumers
各品牌與消費者息息相關(guān),不可或缺
at a time where they're most needed
及時滿足了消費者最迫切的需求
And in all this doom and gloom around the Corona crisis
當(dāng)全球籠罩在新冠肺炎的陰影中時
there is a shimmer of hope

We have seen a research from adman
據(jù)廣告商的一項調(diào)查顯示
which shows how consumers are appreciating
消費者對品牌表示感激
and even expecting brands
并希望品牌
to play more of a role in the future
在未來發(fā)揮更大作用
In March, adman interviewed people
今年三月,廣告商采訪了
across 12 countries all around the world
來自12個國家的人
and these people said
受訪者表示
the vast majority of them

90% said they expected brands to play more of role
90%的人希望品牌能發(fā)揮更大作用
in this Corona crisis and in the future

And 86% of them said

they expected brands to step in

where governments could actually not deliver the needed services

I'm actually convinced that

the future post cover will look very different

to what it looked a few months ago
與數(shù)月前截然不同
This could be more space for brands
百尺竿頭,更進(jìn)一步
but there's also can be more expectations with respect to brands

Brands will have to be more scented
品牌將更好地打動消費者
more relevant, more useful
更精準(zhǔn)、更有力地服務(wù)消費者
in order to have a role to play in consumers lives
從而提高消費者生活水平
And I'm absolutely convinced that

brands will be able to step up
